Democrats want to mandate schools to keep secrets from parents
A couple weeks ago we shared a big win out of the state of California regarding “gender inclusive schools” policies. These policies almost always include instructions for school staff and teachers to withhold information about students to their parents if the student is changing their name, using different pronouns or, in same cases, receiving “gender affirming care” through the school (by means of School Based Health Centers/SBHCs).
California’s Deputy Attorney General admitted in court that they did not have the legal authority to enforce these “gender inclusive school” policies. This was a huge win for school districts and families.
California democrats say, “not so fast!”
On Wednesday, May 22nd, Assembly member Christopher Ward and the LGBTQ caucus have announced a bill that would address “forced outing policies in schools.”
According to the press release, AB 1955, the SAFETY Act (Support Academic Futures and Educators for Today’s Youth) would do 3 things:
Prohibit school districts from implementing forced outing policies
Provide resources for parents and students to navigate conversations around gender and identity on their own terms
Ensure teachers or school staff are not retaliated against for refusing to forcibly out a student
Essentially what this bill would do is codify into law that portion of the “gender inclusive schools” policy that advises and allows for school personnel to keep secrets from parents.
When teachers and classrooms look like the picture below (as they often do these days), it’s undeniable that there is a strategic effort to indoctrinate children with queer theory, leading them to consider name changes, using different pronouns, and likely some sort of “gender affirming care” (hormones, puberty blockers, social transitioning).
Protect Kids California is currently collecting signatures to get the California Protect Kids Act on the ballot (signatures due on 5/28)
The initiative would require both public and private schools and colleges in California to:
Restrict gender-segregated facilities (such as bathrooms) to individuals assigned that gender at birth.
Prohibit transgender female students (grades 7 and above) from participating in female sports.
Repeal the existing law that allows students to participate in activities and use facilities consistent with their gender identity.
The battle for the minds and souls of our children is the biggest threat we face, and we must engage in the fight to protect children. Not just in California. Not just in blue states. This effort is happening in every single state in our country. AB 1955 is the type of legislation that we see “copy/pasted” and we can expect to see this same bill pop up in other states.
