The Biden administration’s Title IX changes to effect last week on August 1st. The biggest thing to know about these changes is that it will allow males to access the private spaces of girls and women - restrooms and locker rooms. It will also allow males to participate in girls’ sports.
I’ve made a point in asking as many “sports dads” as I can over the last few months how they feel about boys being able to play on their daughters’ sports teams. Many of these dads don’t fully align with me politically, but every single one of them was a hard NO on boys playing in girls’ sports.
Women have fought for decades to have the opportunities provided by Title IX and with the stroke of a pen, the Biden administration is taking that away. I personally believe (and it’s not a popular opinion) that until women/girls refuse to participate when males are included in their sports, nothing will change. I know for a fact that the longer the masses “go along to get along”, this unfairness will only get worse. Girls and women will get physically hurt (ie: Italian Olympic boxer, Angela Carini) and they will lose opportunities to male athletes who are bigger, stronger and faster, by design.
26 states have legally challenged the changes to Title IX and Federal judges have temporarily blocked the rule in those states.
But what if you don’t live in one of those states? What can you do?
A number of school boards across the country have passed resolutions stating they will not allow boys to play in girls’ sports or to have access to girls’ private spaces. These resolutions are a very effective way for locally elected officials to use their constitutional authority to protect girls. This procedure is also a powerful tool as it compels every school board director to officially record their vote on the position.
You, as a tax paying citizen, can ask your local school board to pass a resolution to protect girls. Learn more and take action: https://conservativeladiesofamerica.substack.com/p/school-boards-take-action-to-protect
