The power grab in government schools by Washington state democrats continues this session. Tuesday the Senate Early Learning and K12 Education Committee will have a hearing on four of the worst bills we’ve seen this session.

SB 5179 would develop a complaint process for school boards that are not in compliance with state laws.
**30-SECOND-ACTION** SIGN IN CON
This legislation is specifically directed at the school boards who have taken a stand against the Biden Administration’s Title IX changes, WA’s 2024 law to mandate LGBTQ curriculum in all aspects of education (SB 5462) and WA’s 2024 law that prohibits the removal of content about or created by LGBTQ (HB 2331).
This bill establishes a process for students, parents, and community members to file complaints about noncompliance with state laws related to civil rights, nondiscrimination, harassment, bullying, curriculum requirements, and student discipline.
The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) would be tasked with investigating complaints and ensuring compliance through action plans and public hearings.
The bill outlines consequences for willful noncompliance, including public hearings, policy changes, and potential withholding of state funds.
While the bill purports to ensure all students positive and equitable learning environments its true intent is to establish a system for the state to remove constitutionally elected school board who are implementing policies desired by their constituents.
