Monday will be the beginning of Week 6 of the 2024 legislative session.
Tuesday, the 13th, will be the cutoff. Bills must be passed out of their chamber of origin to “stay alive.” However, with democrats having full control, nothing is really dead until the end of session.
Committees will begin hearing bills that passed out of their chamber of origin. All of these bills will be bills you have heard about before - it’s going to feel like deja vu. These bills will go through the same process of committee hearings and executive sessions once again.
Bills are still awaiting votes in both chambers, so we anticipate more will be added to committee agendas next week - and we’ll be sure to let you know.
For now, here’s what we’ve got for WEEK 6:
SB 5462: Requires public schools to incorporate DEI, LGBTQ+, CRT into every aspect of education, funds “inclusive curriculum” coordinators. )This was on our watch list from last session - one of the worst of the worst)
