“Research indicates that as many as 104 million people of faith are unlikely to vote in this upcoming election—and among those, 32 million self-identified Christians who regularly attend church won’t cast their ballots.”
Dr. George Barna, Director of Research, Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University
104 million people unlikely to vote in this election!!! Such a large number of voters would undoubtedly influence the outcome of the election and shape the future of our nation. Christians and other people of faith have historically supported more conservative candidates, which would lead to the assumption that these voters would be most likely to help Republican or more conservative candidates.
Take a look at these numbers from George Barna’s October 7th Pre-Election research:
Many churches in our country have completely abandoned the issue of civics and government, believing incorrectly that the “separation of church and state” means the church must stay out of government issues. It doesn’t help that churches and pastors are often told by democrats and other people who would rather the church stay quiet and stay out of government, that they will lose their 501c3 (non profit) status or receive some other kind of unfavorable legal repercussions if they speak out.
Only 61% of churches even provide sermons or teaching on the Bible’s stand on specific issues like abortion, marriage, gender, and immigration. Just over half of churches just did the minimum of encouraging their congregants to vote.
“You and I voting is a Christian opportunity and a Christian responsibility.” Pastor Jack Hibbs, Calvary Chapel Chino Hills
Noteworthy: The survey pointed out that black churches are more likely than all other Christian churches engage in each of the seven forms of election-related activity studied. Traditionally-black churches are more than twice as likely as all other Christian churches to register people to vote (common to 55% of 5 traditionally-black churches versus 25% among all other Christian churches) and to provide voter’s guides for congregants (53% compared to 23%).
The research also showed the issues of most importance to Christians who regularly attend church. Not surprisingly, cost of living is at the top of the list, with immigration and border control not far behind.
104 million faith voters are planning to NOT vote in the November 5th election. If you are a Christian, you have a duty to vote. You may feel that your none of the candidates on your ballot reflect your values. There is probably one candidate who is more likely than the other to defend the US (and/or your state) constitution, the right to life, that children should not be mutilated in the name of “gender affirming care”, one that will support law and order.
Our votes as Christians and people of faith can have a dramatic impact on the direction of our country, state and even in your local government and community. Please vote!
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
But when a wicked man rules, the people groan." ~Proverbs 29:2 NKJV

So grateful our pastor cares about this and has taken a firm stance on encouraging our church family to get to the polls (figuratively, of course 🙄). If you are looking for a great, through the Bible church that doesn't skip over the tougher issues, you are welcome at Athey Creek Christian Fellowship!!
