Thank you Julie for this alert. I have just submitted comments on both bills. Here's what I said:

The Washington State Legislature has collectively lost their minds to even propose such an invasive and ill-conceived Bill, to block parental/guardian rights to protect teens from online predators. Vote no on SHB 1834 or SB 5708 for the sake of our families and children in the state of Washington.

Vote no because this bill facilitates predators and traffickers of our children.

Vote no because this bill inserts the state into the family and raising of children, it is not the role of government to be the parent or guardian.

Vote no because the unintended consequences of this bill would be explosive growth in teen suicide, teen sex trafficking and destruction of family relationships.

Vote no because you are robbing children and teens of their family life and a wholesome love and respect for their parents and relationships with brothers and sisters.

That this bill was proposed in both the House and Senate in Washington state is absolutely shameful. It appears that the legislature is on a mission to make Washington state the absolute enemy of this state’s families and children. Passage of either of these bills will make Washington state the nation’s capital of child suicide, abduction and trafficking. Vote NO on SHB 1834 or SB 5708.

Thank you for sharing this information, Julie. I am astounded that democratic law makers are willing to give responsibility for their children to the state, or maybe they don't have children. Not that that would necessarily be a bad thing...

Sadly, the state wants authority for these kids, gives them all kinds of services but the day they turn 18 the turn them out on the streets. It's absolutely evil. This is intentional.
