Standing Up Against Education Industrial Complex in WA Senate

An update and a call to action!

Today our Conservative Ladies of Washington leadership team testified in the WA Senate Early Learning & K12 Education Committee in opposition to 3 bills that are being heavily pushed by the "Education Industrial Complex": Unions, lobbyists, special interest groups and PACs (political action committees).

What makes our organization special is that we are just regular citizens speaking up for what we believe is right and encouraging other citizens to do the same. It’s our mission to “make it make sense” for you so that you can speak up and make your voice heard in some way in your government.

We believe being transparent is the best policy. We don’t believe that we all have to agree on every issue all the time. And that’s ok. The information we provide to you is for you to take it if you want…or not. This is America, you’re free to have a different opinion.

There is not much transparency in government. The voices of the “political machine” are loud and attempt to drown out the citizen. The email from the education PACs in Washington over the weekend confirm that the citizen voice is powerful and is a threat to “the swamp.” Please continue to use your voice to advocate for what’s best for you and your family.

TAKE ACTION!

Here are two bills that we are extremely concerned about that have hearings tomorrow, January 29th at 10:30AM, so you must sign in before 9:30AM. (We sent this in our Sunday weekly call to action, so if you did that, you don’t need to do these)

SB 5126: creates a statewide mental health network in public schools. Schools are for academic education. They are not and should not be health care facilities. Additionally, parents will not have access to their student’s mental health records. These services allow the schools to bill medicaid (you, the taxpayer). Sign in CON before 9:30 on 1/29, hearing is in Senate Education Committee at 10:30AM on 1/29.

CON: SB 5126

SB 5369: Increasing mental health services within schools by expanding the number of school social workers. Sign in CON before 9:30 on 1/29, hearing is in Senate Education Committee at 10:30AM on 1/29.

CON: SB 5369
