Earlier this week our Washington team testified in the Senate Education committee on three “bi-partisan bills.” SB 5007, is particularly concerning especially considering the democrats plan to repeal I-2081 which allows parents access to all school records. The repeal (SB 5181 and/or HB 1296) would remove parent access to the most critical records, including mental health, medical health and even attendance records.

So why are Washington Republicans are working to pass a bill that would allow the state to make visits to your home if your student has too many unexcused OR excused absences. Why are all the political orgs, PACs and groups on "the right" supporting this bill?

Read it for yourself.
